BPSA Representative - Hafza Ali

BPSA Representative: Hafza Ali

Hi all! My name is Hafza Ali and I am thrilled to be the Black Pharmacy Student Association (BPSA) Representative on the APSA board this academic year! Currently in my second year of pharmacy studies in the class of 2026, I am dedicated to advocating for the needs and interests of black pharmacy students and fostering a supportive community within our profession.

A little more about myself, I was born in the beautiful British Columbia but lived most of my life here in Edmonton Alberta (Go Oilers!). I have completed my undergrad here at the University of Alberta in Pharmacology and loved every second of it! As much as I love pharmacy, I try to balance time away from school and work by indulging in a good book, discovering new cafes and restaurants in the city, and rewatching my favorite shows.

Throughout my academic journey, I have strived to excel both inside and outside the classroom. As an active member of the BPSA, I have gained a deep appreciation for the unique challenges and triumphs that black pharmacy students encounter. I believe that representation matters and as your BPSA Representative, I will work to ensure that our voices are heard and our perspectives are valued.

Some of the events you can look forward to with the BPSA are our mentorship program that runs the duration of the school year, various speakers and workshops throughout the year, games nights to decompress, our welcome back BBQ and many more fun and informative events.

If you have any concerns at all or would like to talk about any pharmacy or non-pharmacy related topics you can often find me in the pharmacy halls or PBL rooms. I am always open to conversations, so please don’t hesitate to approach me for a chat or simply to say hello. You can also contact me through facebook, instagram or by email at hafza@ualbeta.ca !
