An active membership in the Alberta Pharmacy Students’ Association is voluntary but highly encouraged for pharmacy students at the University of Alberta. A membership offers countless benefits and perks towards improving student quality of life, including:

  • Membership in CAPSI (Canadian Association of Pharmacy Students and Interns) and IPSF (International Pharmacy Students’ Federation)

Many members agree that the cost of an APSA membership pays itself off quickly, and each pharmacy class consistently has over 93% (or even 100%) membership in our association.

The one-time membership fee of $250 will cover your four years in the Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy program, or PharmD program.

Participation without a Membership

  • Mentorship: all first years are given opportunity to enroll in the mentorship program where you can create bonds with classmates and your upper year mentor who can help you navigate the program!
  • The Mint Cup: all pharmacy students are assigned a team each year and can attend events to get points for their team for prizes (team/individual)!
  • Space and Wellness Events: VP Student Services arranges various food events (pie day, hot chocolate day, etc) and wellness events (puppy therapy, build your own wellness kit, etc) that is open for all pharmacy students to take a break!
  • Faculty Events and Committees: Faculty hosts pumpkin carving contests, gingerbread contest and TGIF faculty-student mixers for students.
  • Job Board: Access job opportunities specifically tailored to pharmacy students within your local community and across Alberta. Some opportunities may even be national.
