Muslim Pharmacy Student Association (MPSA)

Our Purpose

  • To educate pharmacists, students, and other healthcare professionals in Alberta and beyond on the unique health needs of Muslim patients, and to equip them with the skills to address Muslim patients’ health concerns.
  • To advocate for the health and wellness needs of Muslim pharmacy students, pharmacists, and patients.
  • To develop a community of fellow Muslim Pharmacy students/professionals/faculty members and foster a sense of belonging.

Initiatives

  • Serving as an ongoing advocacy body for consultation on curriculum inclusivity for Muslims, scheduling considerations with Ramadan and Eid, as well as inclusivity of APSA events for Muslims.
  • Collaborating with Pharmacy Student Services (Trent), the MMSA, and other health faculty Muslim student clubs to expand prayer space options for health science students.
