Publications Director: Nick Yamamoto

My name is Nick Yamamoto (he/him) and I am from the Class of 2025. I am thrilled to be acting as APSA Publications Director, whose role is to oversee the production of Pharmacy Quarterly (PQ+2) and the pharmacy yearbook. In the past, I have invested my time into writing for PQ+2 over the past year and my reporting includes RxFactor, Independent Night, and Black History Month, among others.

As Publications Director, my goal is to capture the moments that matter most to students. As such, I intend to deliver well-rounded publications which represent all students within the faculty. To me, this would entail portraying the diverse experiences of our student body; rural and extraprovincial pharmacy practice, holidays and traditions beyond the Western sphere, and topics in queer health are among some of my proposals for future PQ+2 articles. To cover a broad range of perspectives I would like to feature students outside of PQ+2 who would be willing to share their knowledge as guest writers.

Furthermore, in collaboration with the yearbook editors, I would like to increase engagement with the graduating class so that their experiences are better reflected in the final product. In particular, surveys or opinion sessions would be effective ways to incorporate the creativity and insight that each individual brings. My hope is to involve as many students as possible and I believe we can conjure up the most unique yearbook to date.

Let’s work together to make 2023/2024 the most memorable year of them all!
